so..i did search.....and i couldnt find an answer...so..here is the thing..i have an 89 302 ..it came out of bronco..and i know its speed density and i sucks...and its not ho..but the engine was free...and it runs...now..i want to put it in my jeep...and my friend keeps telling me to put a tbi of a chevy...because carb has the angle problem..and efi with maf its expensive..and im poor...
he said to find an intake manifold..a tbi plate and put the chevy tbi with a boat computer..now idk if any of those 2 would work..but then again i wouldnt know...
TBI is nothing more than an electronic carb and it suffers many the same problems carbs do.. flooding being the biggie. Keep the Ford truck EFI system, salvage a computer and wiring harness from an early 5.0 truck with a manual or C6 automatic, put an SD friendly cam in the motor like the 5.0HO cam, Explorer cam, or one of several available from the aftermarket, and you'll have 250-300hp that will run on any angle including upside down.
