Saturday night me and my brother where getting the fire wood we had cut and on the last load he got stuck 20 feet from the woods in a 15 acre field. We use his winch to get his 99.5 cc 4x4 7.3 in to the woods to get the wood, on the way out he gets 5 feet in to the field and that is all. So i have to pull out in to the field so he has something to pull to so long story i get my truck stuck then he whiches to me then ones he is close to the road he winches past me then pulls me out then he gets stuck at the end of the road and i have to pull him out again. The entire time it was raining and 3 hours later there was 6 inches of water in the field. Looked at the ruts today and they are 9 inches deep and my truck is coved in mud.
I have BFG tires they did very bad did not pull good at all or mabey it was the field that had been worked 2 weeks ago?
What are some good tires? dont need hughe mud tires but something good.
Sorry on pics it was raining and dark and my phone camer sucks.
From your description I do not know if any tires would have helped you.The weight of the truck, soggy field and gummed up tires it is hard get out of.Good thing you had a winch and two trucks.
Freashly worked over field............I stopped trying those after about 15 failed attempts when I was 16. A GOOD mud tire will not last long, is noisey, and can have a bad ride, ie. Super Swampers, Growndhawgs. That being said and guessing you don't want those, I really liked the way the Goodyear MT/R's performed in the slop, BFG Mud Terrains are an icon, and I really like the way the Pro Comp Extreme Mud Terrains look. Have fun shopping!
Fresh fields are pretty much impossible to cross when soaked, and add a heavy truck and unless you have high flotation tires, you ain't goin nowheres. I like the look of the BFG KM2 tires, but haven't experienced them. I can tell you, the Goodyear silentarmors are NOT made for mud, but anybody could have figured that one out...
