Fluid gets dirty, flush it out with new. Open the rr and pump it all out put new in and keep pumping till you see it change to clean, then go to the other wheels and go clean.

"what kind of brake pads do i need to buy for my truck" define question more please.

brake fluid is absolutely not supposed to be that color. heat and moisture break it down and most people never ever change it. i would have to say the type of pads and shoes you pick are a matter of preference and budget. cheap shoes are glued while good ones are riveted. the golden rule of working on brakes is to only work on 1 side at a time, incase you cant remember how it goes back together, this is especially for drums and drums that have an e-brake. and please take note for the drums there is a big shoe and a little shoe, they both have a certain way they go.

1966/72 F250's came with TWO different sizes of drum brakes.

Front & rear are the same, but the sizes could be 12 1/8" x 2" or 12" x 2 1/2"

Does the truck have front drum brakes, or not?

Dual piston caliper power disc brakes were an option on 1968/72 F250 2WD's and F350's.

When front discs are present, the rear shoes are 12" x 2 1/2"
