I'm still trying to finish my 351m transplant into my 68 F100. The only wires i need to hook up are the oil sender, the "Batt" side of the ignition coil and I also need to find a good wire to wire the red duraspark wire for power. My question is, with a test light or voltimeter, how should i go about testing for the right place to hook into? I have 2 wires unattached and i know ones for the guage and the other is for the coil, i just dont konw wich one is wich.
I am assuming that you have the original wiring harness in that engine bay. If so, the coil wire is going to be red with a green stripe and the oil sender will be white with a red stripe. I hope this helps.

That "red" with white strip should be the oil pressure sender...do you have a gauge or a light in the dash? The coolant temperature sender wire is "white" with a red stripe. sometimes its hard to figure out which color is the primary color because they each look like about 50-50% of the wire's colors. Look closer at these to see. Your coil wire will have 12volts when the key is on. The sender wires are the negative side of the equation. They supply the ground to the gauges. The ground varies depending on the resistance supplied by the sender units.
Let me know.
