Hi all,
My lock cylinder housing took a crap on me the other day, and i will be replacing it tonight. Im at work right now, and will not be going to my shop to work on the truck (it is stuck at my apartment). My question is..... what size nut does the steering wheel have? Does anyone know off the top of their head? Im just trying to get the size i need from work so I dont have to make 10 trips. Thanks in advance for any help.
-Phil.
If you can turn the key there is a small hole on the underside of the housing use a paperclip to push in the pin and pull out the key then insert the new one.
Cylinder comes out easy as described above. Also if you got a reasonably good key in good condition (such as a spare key you have not used much) then your Ford Dealer can re-key your new cylider to your old key so you don't have to carry two different sets of keys. Done this twice before, I seem to be pretty hard on my iginition locks.
