alright well i did a turbo off and swapped exhaust housing becuase there was a broken bolt and i didnt feel like easy outing it so i just took the housing i had laying around and put that on. egts did drop and dont spike as fast, but there still horrible. there are NO uppipe leaks, donuts or anything, no rips in the ypipe boots to the plenums. its all clean in there. i can peg 1350 with ease, and when i mean with ease that about a 1/2 throttle pass in 4th gear for a couple seconds before i have to back off. never mind a highway pass! and im sure the truck would have no issue pegging my 1500 degree guage, but ill never let it do that. Stock tune i hit 22psi boost and max 1000egts. on my daily, extreme, and smoke there all the exact same, pegs my 30psi guage and i see 13-14degrees real quick. intercooler is DEFFINETLY in the 4 month plan but my cusins truck with untuned 2s even thoe seems tuned bairly hits 1000, what gives?.
the truck is tuned with tonys tunes for the 1s that are in there. 6637 intake and 4" exhaust to the 6" stacks.
is it tonys programming?

I run a PHP Chip though, not a TW chip.
Fuel delivery on the PHP chips is not as aggressive as the TW chips.
With my clutch slipping, I don't get the High EGT's I cannot hold it. And i usually run my 65 hp tune (econo tune) or my Tow 30ish HP tune. the 30HP tune builds boost where I like it for city driving. And the Econo tune is good on highway.
You can see the EGT's in the video's I posted. I dont really get much of anything anymore. I could hit 1200 easy on stock setup with or without the resistor mod.
Are you getting lots of black smoke when your pegging high EGT's?
Maybe tony has you setup for to much fuel, and its just creating excess heat.
I really have to get on it in my 140 hp tune to even get any smoke.
I'll check it out on the way home and see what I can get for EGT's.
What gears you running as well? I got 4.10's with 33's.
If your running 3.55's with 33's your def gonna lug the engine hard and get high EGT's.
i cant hit 1200 on stock thoe. 1000 is my max at 22psi of boost on the hightway up a slight grade
this rig has 4:10s and stock tires besides the 285 width. i run this truck stock setting allthe time untill powe ris needed, i guess fueling is deffinely different compaired to the php and tonys haha i can black out a street on my daily . smoke setting...holy cow. but when the turbo lights, it really lights and cleans the smoke up really nice, little to no smoke up top. the powerband really flatens out at 3k...and the power drops off.
the only thing that is wrong witht he truck is the fuel pump started leaking a bit.

If you cannot hit high EGT's on your stock tune on the tuner, then I would think its something in the chip.
My stock tune is pretty boring, so I only run it on occasions for cold start up, or when I want to avoid tire slippage.
the TW is probably dumping big time fuel giving you high EGT's.
The PHP tuner doesn't really dump fuel till I got boost, then man. it takes off.
Man. I had some High EGT's at half throttle on the one video.
I'll have to look what that gauge number is. i cannot read it in the video. I think that is 12.
It seemed to stay right around there.

Well I want to be on the posotive side, but I think you are getting to much fuel which is making your EGT's really high. but I was always told put your EGT in the spider to the turbo, and don't let it past 1300. But I am still learning, so I hope you can fix your problem, but my money is on to aggresive of a tune.

Spider by turbo is waste.
You want to know what is coming out on the exhaust. To much of a temp difference between there and the turbo.
If your melting at 1300 coming from the manifold, it is like 1100 at the turbo, if you put it at the turbo, and constantly ran over 1100, then you are just damaging your turbo.
Okay, got some video's, they are coming up.
As for the EGT probe.
To be on the safe side. crawl under there and pull the probe out.
Take a coat hanger or something and stick it in though the hole.
See how deep it is, then try and make sure the probe is centered in the hole best you can get it.
If you are to close to the metal, you could be getting a bad reading.
The 140 tune wasn't any fun, cause i taped the gas and went from 60-75 almost instantly. No chance for EGT's to make it at all, specially with the clutch slip. haha.
