265/75-16 Goodyear Wrangler with Silent Armor, now we're ready for snow
I wanted a mild A/T tread for better snow capability, but still excellent rain, noise, pavement characteristics. And stock size cuz it tows 6K with 3.73's.
Very, very little increase in road noise, not noticeable on concrete but can hear a little extra on asphalt. But the nubs are still on 'em. She'll be towing the Howler to Massachusetts later this week for some 'wheeling.
I put the exact same tires on this summer and they are awesome in the snow and ice.
Slightly off-topic - I got them at a Goodyear dealership in PA while on vacation in July. I stopped by a Goodyear shop in WI last week for balance and rotate (free lifetime). The manager comes out after a while and says "We can't make them balance. Based on the number of weights that the original shop used, I think they're defective." I'm thinking this could get ugly, since the original installer is 1500 miles away and I've got 12k miles on the tires. But he called Goodyear and they authorized 4 new tires. I was back on the road in an hour. I told the guy I'm a customer for life!
Thats good to hear, Im pickup up a new (to me) 05 Ex on Friday and it has the Silent Armor tires 285 75/r16's and I also have heard very good things about them.....

with 285's, your speedometer should be close to right on also...
Speedo still reads 1-2 mph low according to our GPS, same as worn-out Pirelli's.
I'll have to pay attention to that lil' bit of road noise, not sure if it stopped or if I got used to it
After many years of used car tires on the trailer (Jeep take-offs) I stepped up to real, and brand-new, trailer tires this summer.
After 1,750 miles (to date) one of them died a horrible, smoky death about a mile from my destination, 3hrs from home.
I wound up using a Hi-Lift jack handle for leverage to break the lugs loose. My 230# standing on the wrench wasn't enough. That was too much torque for the shredded tire on snow, had to move the trailer to get more weight on it. It was a PITA, but I got 'er done. And had a blast four wheeling in the snow.

Reads low with 285s? Hypothetically, wouldn't a consistently reading low speedometer mean less miles being recorded on the odometer! That's a good idea if you plan to resell
Speedo says 60, GPS says 58. Need to accelerate to indicated 62 for GPS to say 60.
Same w/ stock 265/75 Pirellis and stock size Goodyears, according to the Garmin NUVI 765.
Now that I've solved my dyslexia, I remember the old road rally saying 'Low/slow, High/fly'. My truck has less mileage than what the odo shows. Good for me, bad for resale. I'm not selling so that's OK

Have you confirmed that the odo is off too? It might be right on even though the speedo isn't.
