86 ford build up
i have just purched a 86 f150 4x4 that i wish i turn into a mudder. the thing is i have a 6.6l out of a 82 f350 i have a trany for it but the trany is out of the 82 f350 but the donner truck was a 2 wheel drive. i just need to know what i should. should i use the tranny from the 82 of get a differant tranny.

If you can find a divorced t-case then you can stick with the 2wd trans. Otherwise I'd find a 4wd trans since you'd have to tear the whole transmission apart to put in a new tail shaft and the transfercase housing on the 2WD transmission.
