Always thought karting would be a lot of fun. Started looking at it about 15 years ago but with small kids I just didn't have the resources to get involved. Legends racing got real popular around here and I haven't seen the cart tracks or events like I use to.
It never ends, got in to atv motocross racing about 10 yrs ago. Now at 55 years young, I still love it,still have my track behind the house. The young guys come over and ride with me all the time in the summer, they are amazed that I still do it. Sorry I am not ready for the couch yet.
Very nice website and cool vids too! I've always liked kart racing but have never done it myself. There used to be a kart track about 40 miles south of me in Chilhowie, VA years ago and they ran there all the time. It was a blast watching those guys duke it out.
Nice thread! There is a place close to me called go karts plus and we have a BLAST there. BTW, I never grew up. I consider maturity to be over rated. I'll be 49 in July.
Wish my back could take it ... First childhood of dirt biking did it in .. Too many whoopdies and washboards in the desert ... And too many face-to-faces with cacti ...
Now I think I am gonna have to settle for a diesel rat trike ...
whats great about the second childhood is now we have more $$ and we dont make the same costly mistakes! now days i like to biuld these
and do a lil this
Did that with a Farmall WD45! Made my Uncle Joe NERVOUS!!! Took 2nd place! This was back in 1999!
Me now a days,,,, Go to the batting cage, Got told 1 time to quit it ,,,, too many ***** went thru the nets! Told them to get a new net!
Karts:
There is a kart racing venue at the beach (Ocean City, MD) that has karts.
What a kick in the (you know what)!
One particular style of kart has two engines in it, and those karts will do 60mph+!
Only problem is. . . can you see my big, fat rear-end (with my back/knee problems) getting into and out of one of those things????
Well. . . I did it. A little grease to help me slide in.
A hatpin to get me out!
