Looking for advise

Gotta an 05 F350 with 47,000 miles, I have had no trouble out of it to this date. I have pulled way more than I should have most of those 47,000 miles. Taking vacation this year and taking the 5th wheel out west for a couple of weeks, With saying all of that will get to the point, knowing the history of the 6.0 and being out of warranty, Should I start considering Headbolts, EGR and Oil cooler replacement or should I just wait till I see signs of problems? I don't want to be several thousand miles from home and then it happen. If so, what should I start on first?

Welcome to FTE tjustice Let me get my crystal ball out and look into your future.... In reality you know the truck better than we do and maintenance is the biggest thing to keep things going. Where do you stand on transmission service and regular scheduled items? What is the biggest concern you have and the reasoning behind it?

The truck is serviced with Amsoil all the way around..Trans, engine, and front and rear ends. The truck is stock, no MODs what so ever to the engine and Trans. I put a set of gauges on it and have notice here lately that the boost needle is bouncing bad at WOT, the needle is smooth till you reach 15 psi an is hard to get an accurate reading on.

make sure there aren't any problems with the boost line or fittings.. i've seen a loose line cause the same problem..

as far as your trip goes, like Max4x4 stated, you know the truck.. if you have any problems, post up here and maybe a local can help out..

take lots of pictures wherever you go..

If the needle was bouncing all over I am sure you would notice the engine following right along if something were wrong, I agree with william_04_x, something is missing with a line or tap.

Question to you on using the Amsoil in your engine, do you just change filters and use the same oil over extended periods? You mentioned transmission also, not sure on that one.

Quote "I have pulled way more than I should have most of those 47,000 miles."...with the wrong transmission fluid. The torqshift 5 should only use the fluid that was specifically designed and formulated for use in it...either MERCON SP or now the new MERCON LV. I think we would also be remiss in telly you this if you weren't already aware of it. If trans problems occur later on, I would suspect use of the wrong fluid first. As for your question...I would wait on headstuds until the time they're needed. Go ahead and delete the egr and rebuild the oil cooler (if needed..i.e. termperance variance between ECT/EOT of greater than 15*F). If you have not already done these, then I would do the Zoodad, Coolant bypass, oil bypass, ccv filter (or at least re-route the dirty air), 5w40 Syn oil, etc...
