Body Lift Questions

1994 F150 - Planning to remove body lift.
Is it possible that there's enough play in the telescopic joint that someone put a 3" lift in without a steering shaft extension? I've been looking for a spacer to remove..but I don't see one...

First off...thanks for removing it. Body lifts, IMHO, look like crap. LOL

Secondly, they replaced the entire steering extension with a longer one included with the kit. You'll need to locate the stock part and replace it.

the one on my truck is stock, you just lube it a bit, and push it back in. watch where the emergency brake cable goes into the bottom of the front body mount, if the kit was put on correctly, the cable has been removed and a bracket was added for it.

Wohoo. Lift is out - I wasn't sure if I needed to leave some spacer in there to fit the 33's, but they still have a few inches of clearance, so I'll be able to survive until I find smaller tires.

Also, as far as the body mount goes..mine isn't there anymoe. It rotted away (like..not there anymore) and got replaced with 3/8" plate steel and angle iron. I have a feeling my new body mount is stronger than the frame of the truck now...

I agree with everyone, good choice on removing the body lift. I have one on my truck that I installed and when I have the time I am going to take it off. I absolutely hate it and it does nothing but look bad and cause problems with binding.

I did not put an extension on my steering. It is possible that yours doesn't have one either, so if it slides down enough, I wouldn't worry about it. Good luck and good choice!
