trans swap info

Hey guys i have a question. What would it take to swap from a 5 speed to an automatic(probably E4OD)? I would imagine it would be a PITA because the auto would use a shifter up on the steering column while currently the manual shifter comes outta the floor. Thanks in advance!

That's not your biggest problem. You'll need a PCM for your truck to match the trans, Different drive shaft lenght(s) probably, A radiator with a tranny cooler in it, The cooler lines, a flex plate and torque converter, And the trans wiring harness. You should be able to get away with an aftermarket floor shifter it you wanted to.

hhmm.... Ill stick with the manual lol. I love the 5 speed don't get me wrong, + i get better gas mileage. I was just thinking if it was easy it might be worth the luxury of the automatic but apparently its not . Thanks for the info.
