Hello
I have ben reading this sight for some time and realy injoy it. I saw the postiong on the indy truck and started to wonder about the decals on my 77 F-150 Ranger. I got the truck form the orignal owner about 3 years ago and at that time was told that the truck was some kind of North West specal edition. The truck is a short step side 4x4 ranger with no chrome on the outside and carpet floors. It is black with gold stickers that look like pin striping making squares all over the truck. I have seen this pattern on several 78's but only one other 77 and I have never seen another truck in black/gold, most trucks I have seen are blue/white. Any help with this would be great.
Also I have the chrome windshild gasket with the plastic chrome which has turned yellow over the years. Dose anyone know if the chrome off a 73 to early 77 will fit with out changing the windshild gasket so i can have real crome not the plastic stuff.
Thanx.
Brad
A friend of mine had a 77 shortbox stepside with decals that sound like what you are describing. The truck was silver with black decals, and was a 2x4 F-150 Ranger. I am not sure if it was a special edition or not, but I am sure it was a 77 because of the grill design. I think that I saw one other one a few years back, but it was black with gold decals.
hey boys were you around in76 or7'? in 76' ford said"get it on. getaway. get a ford.truck fever is sweeping the nation.in 77' everthing was "freewheelin"fords.they had a huge paint, trim, interior, wheel option list for these year's.these trucks are still everwhere but most have been repainted or other.from aluim. wheels to rainbow paint schemes.even a bicentenial theme.i know of 5 of these trucks in a 15 mile radius.there was even a physcadelic hippie, surfer theme.the trucks with the square pinstriping are the most common.oleblue=
I do remember seeing many different striping packages on ford turcks of the 70's. Do any of you know a sight or book that would have the the names and/or pictures of these packages.
Thanx
Brad
