All right I give up where do you buy parts for a Ford 302 engine? I tried the Ford parts guy and the earliest year on there site is 1980. I googled 1970 Ford 302 parts and got nothing. I tried LMC, I tried Blue Oval nothing. National parts depot looks like they might have them but not sure of the applicability.

It would help to put what exactly your looking for. the 302 is a common motor and im suprised your searching has come up with empty handed. Maybe someone on here might have what your looking for even.

Most FoMoCo dealerships today only have parts catalogs that go back to 1980, but this does not mean they do not have parts for 1979 and prior years.

The online parts catalog system is run by FoMoCo (Trademotion), and only goes back as far as 1984/85...regardless of what dealership is using it.

Something else to consider. Most Ford partsguy's do NOT give a damn about older vehicles. They did not when your truck was new, and today...nothing has changed.

Today: When the vehicle's specific VIN is typed into Ford's computer system...ALL the part numbers appear on the screen.

But this does not work on 1989 and older stuff, which means that partsguy's (and gals) actually have to look up the part numbers in the catalogs.

Many do NOT want to bother, so...they just shine you on.

What 302 parts do you want? I can tell you what parts are still available from Ford...because...I DO give a damn....and I have ALL the resources.

302 parts

The only place that I know of with something that old would be a salvage yard located in Ennis, Texas. He takes nothing, but older Fords. From what I understand he also rebuilds engines. If anything, he should have access to the parts you are looking for. Sorry, but I don't remember the name of the place, but Ennis is a small town. Shouldn't be too difficult for you to find it thru Yellow Pages. Hope this helps.

16) D9HZ6500A replaced D1AZ6500A .. Lifter / Obsolete

ANTIQUE AUTO SUPPLY in Arlington TX has 16 = 817-275-2381.

BELL-MCCALL FORD in Hamilton MT has 19 = 406-363-2011.

MILLER OBSOLETE PARTS in Binghamton NY has 40 = 800-546-7278.

M & M FORD in Liberty NY has 64 = 845-292-8600.

SAPP FORD in Baxley GA has 96 = 912-367-2466.

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 144 = 800-543-4959.
-----------------------------------------------------------
16) C9OZ6565B .. Pushrod / Obsolete

MILLER OBSOLETE PARTS has 15.

EARL FLOYD FORD in Carrolton KY has 16 = 800-732-2037.

ANTIQUE AUTO SUPPLY has 19.

LYLE'S FORD-MERCURY in Eagle Grove IA has 30 = 800-397-6319.

ANTIQUE AUTO SUPPLY has 1.

MILLER OBSOLETE PARTS has 7.

KINSEL L/M in Beaumont TX has 8 = 800-816-2894.

FRED GRANDE FORD in Richmond MI has 11 = 586-727-3415.

GREEN SALES CO. has 16.

PARTS INTERNATIONAL has 26.
-------------------------------
The above is only a partial list, as 100's more dealers, obsolete parts vendors have between 1 & 15 of the lifters and pushrods.

If it was me, I'd go to the local NAPA parts store and get everything there.

f.goodell: You need to get out more often...if the only place you know of that has parts this old...is a salvage yard in TX.

I've been in this hobby for 50 years, so...I can name 10's of 1000's of places that have NEW parts this old...and not just for Fords, but for everything.

You can get those parts at dozens if not hundreds of local parts houses. Another hundred or so catelog companys. You have one of the most common engines in the world there and can get anything you want for it. Maybe I am missing something here because come on, lifters, pushrods and intake gaskets? Millions of parts out there!!

I can see there is parts available but I wonder why a google search produced such dismal results. Thanks guys I feel better. I am used to working on English cars with tiny juicer engines.
