Looking at an 05 Crew Cab with the 6.0, 61000 miles, short bed, 4x4 lariat. The seller is asking 24,900. Doe this seem reasonable. From what I have looked at NADA and KBB doesn't seem out of line. Also what was the standard warranty on the 05 with the 6.0?
Seems like a decent price to me, i paid a little more than that for my '05 a year ago that is pretty much identical to yours 6.0/CC/SB/Lariat/FX4. The Factory Warranty for the 6.0 is 5yrs/100k i think you can buy the "extended" factory warranty from a dealer if you do it before the original warranty expires. As most will advise though with a 6.0 take the VIN to a dealer and have them run an "OASIS" report that will tell you all of the warranty work done to the rig to give you an idea of the reliability factor.
I can't see the diesel adding that much. I got mine in Nov of 08 and it is an 05 F250 5.4 CC FX4 Lariat short box and my company paid for $14000. It had if I remember right 84000 on the clock.

That's not an "apples to apple" comparison due to the engines (gas vs. diesel) and the timeframe (now vs. November 2008). Super Duties had a low market value thoughout 2008. I purchased my 2005 F350 5.4L in April 2008 and KBB says that it is worth $4K more now than when I purchased the truck. I really don't understand "why" truck prices have increased so much... the economy is bad, credit is harder to get, and fuel prices are rising. It just doesn't make sense to me.
Fuel was approaching $4:50 a gallon and that was if you could get it without waiting in line. I think because of the run up in gas prices that year and people dumping the bigger vehicles just to get out of them it depressed prices for a period of time. Sounds like you bought at a great time.

Yes, I feel good about the price that I paid for my truck. As I recall, fuel prices were dropping right before the November 2008 elections... I thought that it was politically motivated.
