idle questions

well I just got my truck back together after tearing the whole top end apart. The truck seems to run fine as I only have a few issues.First it will sit there and idle/run fine but the instant I even wanna touch the gas pedal the truck stalls right out.Now it does put on a check engine light but I won't be able to put the scanner on it until later today. So does this sound like maybe a throttle position sensor? The truck did idle fine before i tore it apart,so is this more a tps problem or a vacuum problem?obviously I will have to pull codes tomorrow, but this is just driving me crazy. thanks for any input.

What year truck with what engine?

It could be a vacuum leak. I had a similar problem with my 91 F150 and it turned out to be the TPS, but if you've recently pulled apart the top end you'll want to double check and make sure all your gaskets are in place and all your vacuum lines are hooked up correctly. Spray WD40 around your gaskets and look for bubbles- it's possible you didn't torque one of the surfaces correctly.

Good luck.

Nevermind,I got her figured out,I had a few lines mixed up.Runs good now and no leaks. It's funny how things work out.I had originally just wanted to just remove a broken intake bolt, but that didn't work out and I ended up having to remove both heads.Oh what fun!!!
