Steve,
I have a 97 250 and found that once everything is unbolted to just lift up and kinda roll the cover clear of everything. it's difficult to explain but just experiment a little and you will get the hang of it.

Yeah there is a box on the side of it by the valve cover. Mine had 2 little 5/16 self tapping screws holding it on. Some say theirs is glued on. You have to peel back the insulation and you will see it. If yours is glued on I suppose you just be careful and pop it off with a small prybar.

Why are you replacing everything? Testing all those parts is easy. They sure are expensive.

powerstrokeshop.com has everything in one kit. glow plugs wire harnesses and valve cover gaskets for both sides. they are all oem motorcraft parts. like others have said the parts arent cheap. i think its like 295 for everything for both sides

I did my drivers side UVCH and harness outside. They were all fried... BAD. Run good then miss real bad. Checked plugs Holy cow, shouldn't have run at all. Runs like a oil burner should...NOW
