So everything is back together, except starter wont fit!!! its an 89 351 bronco, the tranny is from an 84 5.0 bronco, both c-6. the starter from my 89 wont bolt up and the starter from the 84 ended up stripping out its teeth. Help! Do i really have to take it all apart again?
The last tranny i put in it was a c-6 from a 84 5.0 and it worked just fine so im quite confused
I had the same problem on a truck once. I thought the motor was siezed. I took the starter off, had it tested, it was good, took it back home hooked it back up and nothing. I had lights, horn, radio and everything...come to find out it was the battery ground cable, was juuuuust loose enough to keep it from turning over. Hope yours is as simple as that, good luck
will the engine turn without the starter installed?? if not then my guess would be something is binding in the trans/flexplate area, even with 140k the engine wouldn't seize from just sitting for a few days
