The correct name for the sedan delivery is Courier (the Courier nameplate is visible on the left front fender). Ford made these 1952/60.
Basically, a Courier is a two door Ranch (station) Wagon without the second row seat and without the quarter and rear side glass.
A panel was welded in where the glass would have been on a station wagon. The one piece back door is unique, as the wagons had a two piece tailgate.
This Courier has a Magic-Aire Heater (the control panel is visible, it bolts to the bottom of the dash to the right of the steering column).
Most Couriers were strippers, had no radio, no heater, many were I-6's with 3 on the tree.

I'd kill to have this Courier...my dad bought his in '53 to keep his photographic equipment safe (he felt that the lack of glass kept prying eyes from seeing his stuff)..he and my mother used it as the "family car" til '59 when he traded it, and had to push or have it towed back to the dealer as they were appraising it for trade in value (I think they gave him a hundred bucks)...his was a very light mint green as I remember, and definitely had the three on the tree...good memories...Terry

That brings back some memories. We had a 53 Ranch Wagon when I was a kid. I delivered news papers and on Sunday (big heavy papers) my dad would drive me around the route. Sat on the tailgate with papers in the back as we worked our way through the route. We had the 53 from 55 until dad bought a 57 Ranch Wagon. First new family car and the car that I first drove on the street.

I remember when I was very young (like 3 or 4) the first car I remember my dad restoring was a 53 'Country Squire' with the wood on the sides. That was a neat old station wagon.
At the time my mom had a 55 Cadillac El Dorado - the first one with the tall fins. They sold them both. I saw one of those Cads sell on e-bay a few months ago for about $120K! Sigh!

The wood grain "inserts" are Di-Noc (decals made by 3M) beginning in 1950.
Lotsa luck finding any of the 1952/72 rails NOS...that is...unless you know someone.

Shoot Bill, I didn't remember that the "wood" was really fiberglass. But I do remember he replaced the "wood inserts" with contact paper and laquered over it. Seemed to work pretty good, bu tthen again I was easlily impressed when I was 4.
I wonder if I could get into the old Family photo albums and find a few pics from the sixties! Wouldn't that be interesting! YIKES!
