First my GPR has worked good until i was plugging up my truck and the extension cord had a bad spot on the end and when i plugged it up it sparked out to the truck. After this the GPR will not come on unless i hit the GPR. could the spark have killed my GPR, also i have order a stancor 586-902 to fix it.

No, I think you just have a bad GPR, or a loose wire on the GPR.
The block heater on our trucks is nothing more than a heating element with a cord end. It is not actually connected to the electronics of the truck in any way. there is no on/off switch for it other than plugging it in. It is very similar to a heating element in a hot water heater.
