new fuel pump time
I need to put a new fuel pump on and I was thinking about getting one from Napa the have two different brands 1 by carter and 1 by bosch. I was wondering if any had every tried these or do I stick with one from the stealership??? I was just just trying to save a few bucks. Napa's price is 125.00 and 152.00

I think I went with the Bosch one. do yourself a favor and check fit the banjo bolt on the new pump BEFORE you bolt it down in the valley. I had the threads on the new pump get dinged somehow which then galled when I went to screw the steel bolt into the aluminum body of the fuel pump. big pita considering you can only turn them 1/10,000th of a turn at a time. it would be most helpfull to have a friend with small hands if you yourself dont have them...

I replaced mmine about a month ago, Got it at checkers/ Oreilly's, paid $50 brand they called airtex the only thing on it that said airtex was the sticker placed on a carter box, and it still carried the longest warranty of any I priced anywhere including napa.

I also just replaced mine last weekend and I think it just started leaking from the weep hole!!! I have a Frybrid 2 tank WVO kit installed on my truck, the WVO does not go through the stock diesel filter, there is only one hose that both fuels share and it goes from the solenoid to the pump, all my connections are tight and the pump does not appear to be leaking from the banjo bolt washers, that only leaves the weep hole! The leak is with both fuels so it narrows the possibilities down.
Is it okay to drive with the pump leaking, we have planned a road trip this weekend, I'd hate to have to cancel it.
