Engine color
I was reading a book on Ford Pickups that showed a '65 with the 215 ci I-six, "cost clipper" engine in Ford blue. The caption said this was a rebuilt engine color as the original equipment engine was painted grey. That got me to thinking and I went out and popped the hood on my new '95 F150 and sure enough the engine is grey. So then I look at my photo albums see that my '84 F150 also had a grey engine, but low and behold, my '77 F100's engine was blue. All three of these are the 300-inch I-six and the '77 and '84 were purchased new.
