Nosie - help

I was test driving three f-350 yesterday. One was a 2004 SRW diesel, 2nd was a 2005 SRW diesel and the 3rd was a 2006 DRW diesel. All of the are around 70,000 miles. Now on both of the 2004 and 2005 when you let off the fuel you hear a nosie. Like a chuffing nosie. Found it odd that the same nosie was in both the 04 and 05 but not in the 06. Is this sound normal? Is something winding down?

If you didn't hear it on the '06, either there's something wrong with it or it was quieter than the other two. What you most likely heard was a turbo fart. The 6.0 doesn't have a wastegate so the pressure comes back out through the air intake box....normal.
