I was collecting some info on my truck tonight to see what I have. Can anyone tell me anything from these numbers? What are the ratios etc? The differential has the following numbers on the tag as best I can see:
DM-BM4 6HB
75 9 352A
I could only find some cast numbers on the 3 speed trans. Here they are:
D2AR
7006
with AB following taking up both lines.
Before finishing I got the numbers from the plate on the carb. Any info here would be nice too.
I have to admit this is partly guess work but here goes... Your carb tag, if original, should probably read D7TE ADA. D= 70's, 7= year, therefore a 77 carb. 6G28 is a date code to identify when manufactured. 76, July(G), 28, therefore early production 77. On your rear end tag, the 352 should probably be 350, indicating ratio. A letter following this usually indicates locking rear, check shop manual to be sure. The 6H8(B is probably 8) is again a date code, indicating Aug(H) 8, 76. The date codes on different components may vary, but are usually within a month of the actual truck build date. Info on the trans may be available from the shop manual. Hope this helps.
