No.8 fuel delivery ?

Great forum. Thinking about a '99-03 7.3 to pull a bobcat. I read there are problems with fule delivery at No. 8 due to an engineering flaw. Any experience with this? Is there a fix that won't cost an arm and a leg? This engine would be much better than a 6.0, yes? Thanks

I would reccomend clays kit. It is a true bolt in and has an awesome machined adaptor block. No cutting required. Just bolt it in.

Great question and these guys already got you on the right track.
It's not necessarily a problem, until you do some custom tunes and/or bigger injectors. The #8 injector fires directly after #6. Fuel for that side of the engine is supplied from the front of the block, so when #6 fires, it can leave a "void" of fuel for the #8 injector when it fires. Ford's "band-aid" for the issue was a long-lead injector. But the best fix is as mentioned above with a CCK or even better the regulated return.

Thanks a ton! I am considering Lenz Truck Center in Indiana. I am in Toledo. It's a drive, but no one around here has a 7.3 crew cab. This prob won't happen until spring.
