Ford Edge

Anybody driving the Edge. Now that I am a grandpa (Poppi Rube?) the wife has decided we need some sort of family mobile. My F350 dually doesn't count since she don't drive it, and she won't part with her Miata 10th Anniversary. AND, my beater, 1998 Chrysler Sebring CV with 185K mile is starting to give me problems. I REFUSE to drive a station wagon or van. So I've been checking out crossovers, since I like the idea of AWD (ski bum). So far we've checked out and decided we dont like the Nissan Murano, and Mazda CX6. Tested a nice low mileage used Edge, and really like it. Forgot to add, me and the bride fight over the heater. She likes it hot (I'm Italian) and I like my feet warm and the rest room temp. The Edge has nice dual zone heat, heated seats, and a great moonroof front and rear. Handles nice, looks.....ok....for a station wagon. Price is also in our ballpark.

Thanks!!!!!

The Mazda CX family are very nice cars and very well built.

The Edge is a very car also. I would love to have one myself. It's far from a wagon. I was a little concerned about the limited space behind the rear seat but the vehicle should plenty big enough for two three people.

Go for it.

We love Mazdas, we drove a 626 to 245K, then sold it to a guy we know who replaced the steering rack and is still running it around. Just wasn't comfortable in it..I guess it didn't fit.

My mom has been looking at the Edge and the Escape. Personally I really like the Flex but it seems like I am the only one.

Let me see if I got this right...you drove the car for 245,000 miles before deciding it wasn't comfortable? That's a hell of a test drive!

ok ok ok ok ....I test drove the Murano! You know what I really liked on the 626? The AC ducts used to oscillate back and forth......neat!

My oldest son (now 29) bought an Edge SEL, last March.

He LOVES it!!!!

He was driving a 2000 Toy Celica GT, and he said that he didn't know why he kept that GT so long.
"Sitting in a coffin, compared to sitting 'up' in the Edge."

ZERO 'issues' with the Edge, except keeping the gas tank 'full'.

Now, if that young man would just let ME drive it around for a while. . . . .
