chip question

I just swapped the PCM in my 94 and I discovered it had a chip on it. It says powered by H.P.D. High performance diesel.

Probably the cause of some driveability problems I've had I would bet. Anyone ever heard of them?

Not I

I have'nt and I tried a few of my search prog and could not raise them. May have been a Mom & Pop like store. The chip I have in mine was from such a store and they went out of buisness. I had them cut the shift points before they closed.

OOPS
While writing my search prog found them

What is the dpc # on the pcm?
What is the 4 digit code? (letters/#'s)

If the pcm gave you no issues in the 97.
Why would it give you issues in the 94?

The 97 PCM worked perfect and had no chip. That's why it is in the 94 now. I had all kinds of unexplainable problems with the 94. Start and die in 100 degree weather just sometimes. Felt like it was running out of fuel a few times pulling hills. Now I know why. I'm glad my compression test was ok. I don't have gauges on it other than boost and I know those times I was pulling hills and it acted up that it was my egt getting way too high.

I just started it with the 97 pcm and boy it feels like a new truck. It did the romp romp thing pretty bad and my gpr was cycling off and on. Hopefully that is normal while the pcm relearns it's idle. It is 14 degrees out. If it does it again I'll go put a new gpr on it.

The throttle is much more responsive now and idle a thousand times smoother BTW. About to go pick up another 1500 pound square bale and I'll see how it feels then with that in the bed.
The 94 did have a 1100 rpm high idle programmed into it when it was cold. I need to get that back I think. The 97 idled the same low rpm all the time.

IIRC your issues are from the cross parts.
The 97 parts are Cali, Correct?
Wiring and pcm are not the same as the 49state.

So if iam correct. Now you have the 97 harness and pcm.(installed in 94)
This with 49state inj. (singles)

The 94 pcm is EEC-V and could be flashed to TDE1 OBD2
