sloppy tcase

sloppy tcase
When I was inspecting the 96 f350 I just bought the front drive shaft moves up and down at the tcase. I assume this is the bearing in the front of the tcase out put correct. I also would guess I will need to pull the transfer case and rebuild the whole thing to fix this? Is the tcase in a f150 or f250 the same? thanks for your help in advance, Aaron

Are you sure it's the t-case that is sloppy? It may be in the double cardan u-joint on the front drive shaft moving. When mine went south it kinda looked that way until I removed the shaft and saw the u-joint needed to be replaced.

thats what I am kinda wonderin I am going to pull the drive shaft out tonight and see from there. I was looking for some pinions from people on it though in the mean time I appreciate your input thanks a whole bunch.
