7.3 rattle

i have a 99 super duty with a 7.3. it is making a loud rattle kind of noise. it is kind of hard to explain really. the engine its self sounds fine when it is idling and running but when you move to the side of the truck there is a consistent rattle that makes it louder than anything around. dont know if anyone will really understand it or if anyone has had the same thing. thanks for any help.

Heat shield?

Also, just a wild guess.. but the guy who replaced the torque converter on mine was able to tell by a noise similar to that you are describing....
