Didn't you know, burn outs show how much skill you have as a driver, it is a sign of personal development and maturity.
Burn outs do nothing but wreck your tires, put wear and tear on your truck, leave a stupid line on the road, and **** off everyone around you because of the noise/smell.
I don't have any pictures of burn outs, but if you want I can get you a picture of the smashed review mirror that I knocked of an *******s truck the 3rd time he did a break stand right out side my front door in a week. Needless to say no one does burn outs on my street any more.
any ******** can spin the tires on any car, and all it proves is your an ********, and sooner or later your going to walk up to your truck to see flat tires/smashed window/keyed paint job/who knows.
rant off...sorry if that came off as a little harsh, but burn outs are about as worth while as dial up internet when you are trying to watch ****.
Burnouts are a great way to test for weaknesses in your truck, a few here and there and you will find those pesky weak U joints, transmissions, motor/trans mounts, etc......
A great way to "burn out" all your disposable cash you have no other way of getting rid of!
sorry vermonter150,but I think I would do a burnout on your lawn just to spite you for being a douchebag!!! It's their truck let them do as they please to it.If that involves it being on your street tough *****!!! Call the cops and don't be a vigilante cause your just making things worse!!
Burnouts might be a little wreckless and foolish. But it is a way to show people how much power you have or don't have. How well your tires hook up or how bad it hops before and after you put traction bars on. Besides i think they are kinda fun. But to each there own. And just saying but if i knew someone ripped someone's mirror off for doing them i would do more. But i wouldn't get caught. I would get some pics or a video but the roads are snow covered so thats not happening anytime soon.

No it's not. A time slip from a drag strip would do that. Spinning your tires is just annoying and anyone that's surpassed 18 yrs old mentally just laughs at you. I know in your head you're thinking, "Woowheee howdy! Those boys over there staring think I'm a goddang billy badass!!" but really, they're just making fun of you.
A burnout doesn't really indicate power, but instead lack of traction for a given amount of power and weight. I can do a nice smokey burnout in a worn-out Hyundai Excel if it has a set of dry-rotted tires. I wouldn't consider an Excel a particularly powerful car.
If you want to actually demonstrate power, do a dyno run or take it to the track. Both gives out a slip with data you can use to claim bragging rights if that's important to you. Nothing wrong with that either.
Certainly, as a teen, I left my share of black lines on the roadways and parking lots. That is, until I witnessed a friend's tire explode during a burnout, sending off a huge chunk of hot rubber into a very pretty girl's face. Even after extensive plastic surgery, she wasn't that pretty any longer. Imagine if that chunk of tire hit her in the neck instead of the face?
So I get where the burnout-boys are coming from, as I myself was immature and enjoyed horsepower in a variety of ways. But, I also get where Vermonter is coming from - a couple of the kids on my block were practicing "drifting" on the circle in front of my house - sliding uncontrolled and damaging people's lawns since we have no curbs on this street.
I asked them nicely to stop, mentioning that my 3 y/o son was on my lawn and they were creating a dangerous situation. They flipped me the bird, so I called the police who came, saw their behavior, ticketed them in a variety of ways and impounded their cars as "evidence" until their court date.
That was better I thought than my acting out on my immediate desire to rip them out of their cars while using their eyesockets as finger holes.
I did ask them to knock it off first, and quite nicely too. They got what they deserved after that.
