Starting issues
Hello All, I have a 2008, F150 5.4 SC. It has been Farily cold here in the mornings between -16 and 10. Last Saturday I had to have it jump started, it would not crank. When you went to turn the key you would hear some relays clicking, but nothing coming from the starter, also when i turned the key off the gauges where flickering mostly the tach, and speedo.
Well this Tuesday it needed jumped again, this time it would crack but not enough power to turn over. I was due for a oil change so i figured I'd just have them test the battery, well it tested with 540CCA, (anyone know what the factory battery is rated for at CCA? It's still the stock battery)
I have read previous posts where they experienced the same thing, replacing the battery fixed it. So I'm wondering even though it tested OK at the stealership, is my issue the battery or something else ?

Sounds like it won't hold a charge to long anymore 540 CCA is very low for these trucks I would get a new one with at least 850 CCA or better.Think the stock is an 540CCA should be on the top of battery.
Switched mine to an 850 CCA and no more problems.
