I am going to convert my 1965 F100 from a manual to automatic transmission, and am considering changing the steering column to match. What years of steering column will fit on my truck.
The column I am purchasing is off of a 72 F-series. I just bought a remanufactured stock steering wheel for my orginal 65 column, and would prefer to keep the steering wheel. Will the one off my 65 fit the 72 steering column?
Just a question, are you tring to keep the truck stock in apperance? Because if you not, I just instaled a very nice hurst shifer in my 65, and it work great. It looks very good on the floor to..
More or less, I'd rather have the stock look over all. Don't get me wrong, I've seen awesome trucks with various aftermarket shifters and such. I am more into hiding any performance upgrades under a "stock" look.
I sent my old steering wheel to Johns F-fun-hundreds. They reman ( or have another company reman) steeringwheels. They have a website, www.f100.com that you can order a catalog from, and further order the steering wheel. Also, you can e-mail them at their website for more information.
