on an 04 F250 with a 6.0 if i remove everything so its straight pipe with no muffler or anything what will it do as far as power/ problems with the truck. anything else??
It won't do anything dramatic. Your EGT's should be a bit lower. You could see a little more turbo lag on takeoff. You won't see much gain in power unless you change the tune.
Folks say they are not terribly loud. The turbo still muffles the roar.
Unless you use a tuner, I'm not sure there is much point to this, unless you just like the sound.
so i will have lower exhaust temps and a little more noise correct?? but what do you mean by turbo lag on takeoff? its going to take longer for my turbo to spoil up?
A turbo, unlike a supercharger, is run off of exhaust gases. A big part of the equation with the turbo is the amount of back pressure that is in the exhaust, and mufflers and cats create enough back pressure to help. With a lack of back pressure, there is less air for the turbo to take and shove into the cylinders.

Yes, and yes.
Reports are that a custom tune can help with the turbo lag. Can't say personally, because I don't trust tuners, but I'm sure it is true.
The increased turbo lag also happens to guys who go with oversized 5" exhaust. Same principle.
do you think it will cause any damage to my turbo or motor since it wont have the correct back pressure? because i dont want to put a tuner on my truck and start burning it up either.
I have a straight pipe all the way for over a year now. No huge differance but louder when i stomp on it. Mine is stock except for zoodad and straight piped.
I don't believe it will make your truck "slower". These trucks all have turbo lag. Doesn't mean your truck is slow. Doesn't mean your truck is underpowered. Just means it's a little slower off the line until the turbo spins up. Assuming you are not planning on drag racing, it's just something you adjust to.
yea im not racing or anything but i like a truck that can get out of its own way. so as long as its not much of a differance except a little more noise it should be fine.
I think you will like it. With mine i did'nt notice hardly any differance accelerating. I went with a 4 inch from where the cat was to the end of where the muffler was and have it turning out in front of the rear wheel with a big stainless tip. Love the sound.
