Why would my 54 F100 with Fordomatic burp about 4oz. of ATF, out of the fill tube. It had been sitting about a week, and the fill level previous was about 1pt. low. Mad because of not being driven?

I haven't the slightest idea, Jake, since I haven't got mine running yet, but I would like to say that it's nice to see someone else with with a red '54 with the Ford-o-matic...

When you checked it, (and I'm assuming added fluid) was it well warmed up and in drive? It sounds like you have too much fluid in it.

After it lost the fluid, i have warmed it up and checked it several times. I checked it in park and it shows very low on the stick. The fluid seems clean and smells good. I have added no new fluid.

If the vent is plugged up this will happen. I'm not familiar with these early transmissions but I know on the fleet vehicles I work on when the engine is shut off it will blow the dip stick out and alot of fluid at the same time.

Check for a vent on top somewhere
