You are correct that you'll need hubs on the front axle.
You have two choices for the transfer case.
One is to put in a part time kit. The only one you should even consider is the mile marker kit that replaces the entire differential inside the T-case. There is also a mile marker one that replaces the differential pinions with half gear blocks; this one eventually fails. I see the kits on EBAY or Craigslist once in a while. If you do this, you will have to be sure to engage the T-case for a few miles EVERY 200 MILES. You have to do this because the T-case is oiled by the moving chain. With the chain still, the bearings at the rear output shaft don't get oil and will fail.
The other option is to get a NP205 T-case. It was the other case found on those years of F150s. The NP205 is the most bulletproof transfer case ever put in a pickup so this is a good choice if you really want to hammer your truck off road. The rear drive line must be lengthened and the front drive line must be shortened if you go this route.
