"two finger wave"

Hello -

I recently purchased a 2006 F250 extended cab shortbox 6.0 powerstroke diesel. It has less than 17k miles on it and the carfax report was sparkling. I was looking for a HD truck because I plan on purchasing a 5th wheel shortly and could not pass up what I believe to be a steal (purchase price was low $20's) but when I was researching tow capacity on the Ford HD trucks , they all seemed to list the tow capacity for F350's using 5ht wheel trailers. I know the base is the same at 12k but is it the same capacity using a 5th wheel on the F250?

Thanks in advance.

Rated the same F250 or F350. The difference will be the "squat" when loaded.

btw - what is the "squat"? Is that how far down the back end goes when trailer is hitched?

Robert,

I have the 04 F250 in my signature. I pull a 12000 pound Heartland Big Horn with it. I am very comfortable with this combo. It is at the max end of the trucks GCVWR but it handles great. Your truck is rated higher than the 04. You should be fine.

Yes squat is how much the back end drops when loaded. I pull a 15+k 5th wheel with mine pulls great. I would sugest a set of air bags though.

I would agree with the air bags. I am planning to install them as well. You do not have to have them but they improve the ride and ride height
