So chaps, for those not plugging in their trucks all night......what timer you using and where did you get it? What was the cost? Indoor/outdoor or both?
Pics would be cool too
I stopped by Lowe's today and was disappointed at their selection I am staying at a friends house for a long bit and do not want to kill their utilities bill.
Thanks
Cheap 10 dollar outdoor mechanical timer from wal mart here (sorry no pics). Set to turn on at 4am and off at 9am. I haven't been using it though, but dad has. His 6.0 has one or more glow plugs not working, and with the colder than normal temps, he has a harder time getting his truck started. I have synthetic oil, and good batteries, and have no problem starting. I do get some decent white smoke (I guess a glow plug or two may not be working on mine too) but it still starts. I like the fact that the heat comes on much faster plugged in though.
I found one at Home Depot. Sorry don't remember the price, but they had a cheap one and a better one that was rated at 20 amps, outdoor rated, and had a flip down cover over the timer wheel. I also use one of those extension cords that lights up on the end so I see the glow each morning before I get in my truck.
