All I gotta do is change the oil and hook up to the teardrop...... This will be the first leg of my summer journey, 725 miles to PF and then on to New Hampshire for a visit with my Nephew and family. Over 3K round trip!

 

Not sure if I'll make this year or not.... but if I do , it will on the bike agian, cuz without a 3-4 man crew and a month of work, the old truck won't make it I think I need one of them TV crews to come and slap it together in a week

 

Hey guys, the wife and I will be there. I bought a bed for the 53 and a few other goodies. So we are coming up on the 14th to pick it up. Wished we could get off work and be there earlier in the week. Hope we can find a room somewhere even if its outside of town. If not we live close enough that we will just drive back that night. Hope to see and meet some of you. Also hope the wife enjoys all the old trucks so we can make this an annual event. We went to the Thunder Beach motorcycle rally about 6 years ago and now she has me making reservations for the next year while we are down there! LOL

 

I was just up at the 'Forge this weekend for a Chuck Wagon Cook Off at one of the campgrounds. Got second place with my cowboy biscuits.

I went by the Smokey Shadows and made my reservations. I got in the second floor of the new tower facing the parking lot this time. I'll be coming in some time Wednesday and staying til Sunday.

 

We plain to be there Wednesday as well. Congrats on the cook off, are the cowboy biscuits an early version of Krispy Kreme. Don't tell Truxx if they are.lol

Haha, nope...nowhere close to the same. They did have fried dough, kinda like todays donuts...'cept they called the little fried pastries, "bear sign."

 

I have been thinking of coming this year.As it will be our first what have we got to look forward to,I know there is a truck show,but what is the story on cruises,and if we came up Wed,and stayed till friday afternoon ,what would we be looking at also is smokey shadows motel the place to stay,and if I can't get rooms there where else should I try?

 

The cruises are GREAT man!! We are planing on 2 this year. 1 to Clingman's Dome, and maybe 1 to the Dragon's Tail? Depending on time and everybody's trucks and so on. Smokey Shadow's is the place to stay, cause its right at the show. That way you can stand right by your truck and talk and eat Krispy Kreme donuts til you puke If I leave any that is. Come on down!!! We'd LOVE to have ya!!

If I can get my truck finished I was planning on making the trip.I believe I would have to be there before 1:00 Friday to register my truck. Is that correct?

 

We made our reservatons last week at the Cabins just behine the hotel, the same place we stayed last year. We are planing to roll in Wed about noon.

really looking forward to the cruise(s) this year and seeing everyone again!

The flyer does read like that, Fri 1:00- I thought you could Register still on Sat- I maybe wrong.

 

We made a small goof on the flyer, you can register up till 1 on Saturday. you'll probably miss being voted on as ballots have to be in by 3.
