Can't remember the first time it happen, but this spring I was hit again. I know for a fact squirrels part/all of the issue of chewed wiring or emission stuff on top of the gas tank. I now have around $2000 invested on the repairs, with the latest damage around the coils packs to a huge hole in the evap canister above the gas tank and not to mention most of the wiring around the tank. I realize it's not all squirrel damage. Myself and the truck since new have lived out in the woods and have been parked outside. I've always have small critter paw prints in the engine compartment.

I do have three cats, two being outdoors with one being a feral cat and he was deadly at one time. He's still a killer but he's getting old and is slowing down which I believe why the damage has been extreme this last time around.

Now there is a extreme squirrel shortage in my neighborhood. Matter of fact, just got another yesterday, they really like my bird feeders. All I got to to do is crack the front door, go back to the window to see when they relax of said activity. They're a bit nervous because the friends disappear from this location. When they go back to their biz, I go back and slowly open the door just enough to brace my silenced, scoped 10/22 off the door and door jam for a solid mount to pull off a head shot at around 40 yards.

So yeah, that's my new daily chore with the house and yard being on lock down. I even have webcams and a security program Blue Iris to keep eye on stuff and warn me of movement. That doesn't work so well, you gotta be there when they come in cause the camera/software might not pick up the movement of something that small. I mostly use the cameras to keep an eye my new pups, (rots) and make sure they are not trying to dig out of the 3/4s of an acre of chain link fence we have for them.

Now if I could scare off the rust that's attacking everything on the truck.
