I am rebuilding a 1976 F-150 4x4 and the body is completely junked. I would like to replace the body with a newer model, preferable one from the past ten years. My question is will a newer body work with the old chassis and if so what year would work the best? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
bb, 79 is as far as it goes for bolt up, however creative energy can come up with most anything.
I might suggest that you find that later model 4X4 that you like and put your running gear under it. Be mindful that some states test for emissions and you truck would have to meet them for that year model.
Good luck

As a matter of fact I did hit a deer on a back road and it is part of the reason I am rebuilding this truck. So to answer your question that is how I got my name.
Not trying to one-up anybody, but I have hit no less than Four in my F-150 while I was dating my now-wife. She lived way back in the sticks. Got more with a truck than I did hunting- costs too much to do it that way, though.
