Well i have 99 f-250 that i bought from work. Anyway it is a work truck so its got no power locks or windows or cruise or all the goodies. Well i bought a chrome bumper and grilleb and the bigger lights for the truck. Anyway i changed everything over including the lights and wired everything. Everything went okay but when i turned on the my lights the little light that indicates the high beams was on. But my high beams werent on. What can i do to correct this?
What did you have to do to the wiring to make it work? What happens if you switch the bright lights on? Do they work? Does the dash light go off? If you unplug the headlights does the dash light go off?
Well the lights work. If i hit my high beams i can see them get brighter but the inside high beam still stays on. I going to pull the bulbs off and see what happens.
What type of bulbs are in the new lights compared to the old lights?
I've seen this happen when a 9007 bulb gets put in place of a 9004 bulb. They are physically very similar, but wired different and it causes this. Could be the other way around with a 9004 in a 9007's spot, but I'd check that.
I put in the 9007 light bulbs. I think that you might be right. Last night i took out the blubs and turned the lights and without them in and i did not seea high beam light.
