Question do i need a double flar?

Sooooo, today i am making the hard lines for my disc brake swap
and of corse they do not sell the lenghts of tubing i need nor do they have the correct ends on some of them. this forces me to cut them to the correct lenght and use my old end. now, i do have a imperial eastman flaring tool but i don't think it does a double flar. the instruction's says it makes precision 45* flares which conform to SAE standards.
So, the question is do i need a double flar?

Thanks

It has been my understanding that ALL automotive hydraulic brake systems using steel tubing should be double flared at the ends. This practice is to ensure that the end doesn't split/crack and then leak & loose pressure. Remember these systems can see hydraulic pressures upwards of 1,200-1,800-psi. So, no single wall flares, no compression fittings and no plastic or copper lines either.

Here's a bit of info on the subject: http://www.ehow.com/how_5435547_make...ake-lines.html
JMHO,
BarnieTrk

P.S.
If you were doing A/N stainless steel tubing many you use a single flair. It's done with a different type of flaring tool and a collar to keep it from splitting. Also, the flair used for stainless is 37 degrees and requires a different style of fitting. It's called a JIC fitting, is 37 degrees and single flare. I believe this is the type used extensively by the military....

Okay, Thank's BarineTrk.... i have 2 lines bent and to the correct lenght, i just got back from the auto parts store where i had to get the other lines i needed, so, i went ahead and bought another flaring tool that does a double flar,
You can never have enough tools!
A good investment because i have my 65 to do next

This swap is taking more time than i thought it would, but, really it's not that hard.
The hardest thing is the empty wallet! over 500 bucks so far.... thats OK, the insurance check from the bent rear bumper was 711 bucks.

The double flare is not hard to do if you have the correct insert fot the flaring tool and practice a bit on a piece before you make one to install. Let us know how it worked!

It worked Awesome! i did do a practice run on the piece i cut off and it wasn't hard at all. only one time did it not make a double flair because i did not have it clamped tight enough.
