Raising Front End

The front on my 77 F150 4x4 is sagging. Is there any way to bring it back up to factory height. What I would really like to do is convert to a front leaf set up like on the highboys but I dont know if this is possible. I have seen some coil springs in JC Whitney that would work too. Some one said somthing about a suspension lift that could work. If anyone has any input please share it. Thanks

If you have a few thousand extra dollars laying around you could always swap in F250/350 Dana 60 axles, they go right in, all you need to do is make up the front spring mounts and probably driveshaft alterations.

Of course, if you don't have a few thousand $$ laying around, I've heard of a couple people putting leaves under their 150. I think you need the leaf sprung axle, and obviously the leaf springs.

Putting new springs in front, wether stock height or lifted springs, will bring your front end back in check.

So if I get a set of Dana 60 axles (Front and Back) and get the leaf spings and make brackets for the springs I could make my pikcup into a quote "highboy"? Then some altercations for the driveshafts too. It shouldnt cost thousands because I have some salvage yards pretty close that are exclusively ford trucks and I am friends with both of the owners. Thanks

Save yourself the headaches and money. Take $200 and half a day and just put in a new set of coils. I have ridden in leaf sprung front axle trucks, a I am thankfull for the softer riding coils under my truck everytime i hit a New Orleans pot hole.

I AGREE WITH HIM SAVE YOURSELF ALL THE MONEY AND HURTING YOU WILL HAVE TO CUT AND WELD ON YOUR TRUCK. YOU HAVE A FINE TRUCK AND WITH A LITTLE BIT OF MONEY AND TIME YOU WILL STILL HAVE A NICE TRUCK TAHT AIN'T ALL CUT UP. AS FAR AS PUTTING THE DANA 60 IN THEY ARE LIKE TRYING TO FIND GOLD AND WHEN YOU DO FIND THEM IN (AS-IS) SHAPE THEY RUN BETWEEN 1000.00 TO 2000.00. JUST PUT THE COILS IN AND RIDE HIGH. GOOD LUCK!!
