Weak IC tubes?

Weak IC tubes?
While working on my UVCH the other day I saw something different..... Are the IC tubes really this weak?
It is obviously from the harnesses, but they are plastic and the tubes are metal. Anyone else seen this on theirs? I have moved the harnesses so they don't hit but dang... Plastic that can eat metal.
Also... I cleaned up some soot from around the boots that connext the tubes, sugged the clamps a little, but just in case, where is a good place to get replacements?

It is actually a very prevelant thing to happen on most of our trucks. Its not so much that the metal is weak, but just that constant friction can do amazing things. Thankfully you can get new ones from Ed for alot less than you would think, about $160 delivered
