Anyone interested in 04 6.0L PSD, loaded. Lots of photos on here but I can add more. 98k miles, new tires, racks, HID lights, auto start, DVD / Nav / Sat Radio, Rear backup camera, etc. I will put a "listing" together...not sure what the market is for these things right now but 8 cars is too many around this house and we're going to be moving back into NYC proper full-time so I don't need to leave this beast parked on the Jersey Shore....kids are old enough we don't really "family vacation" in it...
Well I still haven't bought one yet! Decided to drive one with a V10 in it first.
He's he's what it's down to: 2000 XLT 5.4L 133k miles for $5,500 or a 2000 Limited V10 90K miles for $8,500
What do you all think?
Keep looking. If you're not happy with the V8, don't sell yourself short.
And the V10 is overpriced by a bit. I bought a 2000 limited V10 4x4 with 101k miles just a few months ago and paid 7k for it.. and that's a fairly common deal. If you're looking at 2wd's, they should be significantly cheaper (about $1000-1500).
Here's a pretty screaming deal if leather isn't a huge priority and you're close enough to get it within a day's drive: ksl.com - KSL Car Classifieds

I wouldnt call that a screaming deal......exterior damage unfixed, interior is very dirty and needs work....only thing i see it has is a set of decent tires and a roof rack....other than that, I wouldnt even give that truck a first look.....
Found a 2000 Limited 2wd, diesel motor with 269k on it for $8,500
Clean one owner truck. But is 269k to many miles?
Too many miles?!? You're just getting started!!
Mine has just under that and it's still running strong!
Things to consider are the maintenance items: Ball joints, Tie Rods, and their condition....
Has the trans been serviced regularly?
Any known mechanical problems?
Have the brakes been done? (warped rotors or pads need replacing)
Shocks in good shape?
If the above checks out, go for it...but keep in mind, even if the truck has a few issues 90% of the time they are FTE fixable and won't cost you a trip to the dealer.
If I lived closer to you, I'd come help you check it out no questions asked.
OK so it's been a while! But I finally bought a truck. Bought a 2002 Excursion Limited 4x4 with the V-10, 117k miles on it. Go clean southern truck. Paid $8,500 for it. It has everything except heated seats.
The only thing that was considered a "Problem" with the 2002 V-10 was the heads were known to spit plugs threads and all out. The 2002 heads had only about 4 threads holding the plugs in, this was changed to about 8 threads in 2003.
Did you get a good deal. If the Excursion is clean and drives good. Yes.
If yours has had spark plug thread problems it has more than likely been fixed by now.
Congratulations on your purchase! Sounds like a good deal to me. And nice to have a fellow Sea Ray owner on the board! These trucks make exceptional tow vehicles and I think you made a good choice going with the V10 vs. the V8. The 4x4 is always a good idea with boat ramps as they can be steep, wet and slimy depending on where you boat.
What Sea Ray do you have?

Well I'm a former Sea Ray employee of 15 years, So I have owned several Sea Ray's ranging from 18' to 31'. Just sold my 23' and now I'm looking for a bigger one since my Excursion will tow 9500lbs. Looking in the 24-25' range.
It is - absolutely love it. Twin 4.3's and all options except genny which I may be adding at some point if I can find room for it. The Ex tows it like a dream - the turning radius could be a little better as some ramps get a little tight. That's about the only negative I have - leaf springs just don't allow much room. Good luck in your search for a new boat - the market is a buyers one at the moment. You looking for a DA or something else? What did you do at Sea Ray?
btw - posted this on your profile but since I've completely derailed the thread at this point I'll put it here as well. If you aren't aware already then there is a great SR forum at Club Sea Ray.
Sea Ray ... and now I'm looking for a bigger one since my Excursion will tow 9500lbs
I realized I was in trouble as soon as I started buying goodies for my Ex.
And there's guys here who have ordered lifts, etc. while waiting for their Ex to arrive...
