I just want to say thanks so much, I was having a lot of problems with my 03 6 litre in my f350 I took it to just about every shop in my area and had the codes down loaded needless to say the were never any codes or problems but I continued to have shuddering, smoking, and surging at highway speed but no one had any idea on what was wrong I was told any where from EGR to bad injectors to colapsed exhaust I was ready to get rid of the truck until acouple of members here directied me to the 6 litre tech page and the first article I read discribe my problem to a tee except the codes that were produced so instead of spending thousands of dollars to do the injectors and EGR I took the advice of the tech article and bought an Exhaust back pressure sensor for $104 and it took me about an hour to install and Low and behold problem fixed once again guys thanks
Ross
yup the exhaust back pressure sensor must have been braking down inturnally like the post said and no one not even the dealers had a clue, now I think I will check the egr valve and clean it like in the one post I just read
