So this is my first winter with the V10, so been having some fun in 2wd around corners lately
So I was pulling a U turn 2 or 3 days ago so I could park right infront of my house in one of the only places were I can plug in my truck. At first the rear didn't want to swing around so I gave her a little more gas but then it hit ice and took off and came around on me a little faster then it should and slide into the curb might hard, think my rear driver side tire mighta got airborn when the rear passenger side smaked the curb.
It was dark then so I couldn't see my bent rim Tire stayed on and still is on but today I noticed the bent rim now...S%$!. I amazed the tire is still fine but now I guess the bead might be a little fractured, so guess I'll have to take care of that but prolly need a new rim.
Not really.... the V6 got 21-22 on the highway versus the V10 at 15-16 @100kph. City driving is about the same the V-6 is a horrible motor for a fullsize truck.
wrecked rim.......sounds like an excuse for some sweet 18" moto metals, wrapped with 35" BFG mud terrains to me... goofing off is fun until you hit stuff... been there, wrecked that...
The specs for the 295 are just a shade over 33 inch's, and for a 35, it is 35 inches, with almost a 2 inch difference! Not quite 1.5 inch's different in width, but close.
Its basically the difference between not rubbing and rubbing alot , on a stock truck.
I would not go to a rim bigger than 17 inch unless you could fit a 37" tire. On 18 or 20 inch rims - the tires dont look as meaty! My tires are 35/12.50/18 and my employee has 35/12.50/17. His look much, much better!
A tire size I really like when clearance is an issue are 305/70's. They are nice and wide/meaty, but just a c-hair shorter for better fitment.
I think my next tires will be 325/65/18's - just a bit more meaty than the puny 35's I now run.
