Looks good. I'm hoping to be there some day too, are you painting the inside at the same time or doing it in steps. I'm still trying to figure the procedure.
Looks like it will be sharp when you are done.
I have done many.....and it is exciting to see your OWN paintwork....and say..I PAINTED MY OWN TRUCK.....Cool.........Bill
Did you modify the hood to accept the spring from the 48-50 upper valance panel (the piece between the upper fenders above the grille)? If not, then you'll either need to modify the hood or get a 51/52 upper valance panel. I'd get the 52, because it has the FORD letters in it just like the 48-50.
The spring is on the upper valance in a 48-50 and on the hood in 51/52.
48-50 upper valance
51 upper valance (6 cyl)
Latch (same as in 51/52). Also note the V8 emblem. This is for 51 only. The 51 equipped with a 6 cyl didn't have an emblem (see above).
Here's another shot of a 51 with 8 cyl. Note the two holes for the "V8" emblem.
Here's a 52. Hard to see, but the best that I could come up with through my images.
Another 52 from my truck (6 cyl emblem on hood, same place where a V8 emblem would go).
I hope that you already knew the difference. Didn't want you to go through the trouble of painting everything, then not being able to shut your hood and having to redo everything again.
