Steering Improvement

I was having trouble with the manual steering in my 69 F100 2wd. The steering wheel was moving up and down inside the column tube. while trying to manuever at slow speed (parking spots) I found that I had to push the steering wheel in for less resistance. In looking at the coupler connection at the steering box I found that the "rag joint" coupler was lacking any stiffness and twisting and stretching, allowing the travel. The two grooves that fit around the studs were actually riding above the studs. I purchased a "Help" kit for 74 and above Fords. The disk was correct but the hardware only included one stud instead of two. The auto parts manager opened a second one to give me a second stud. Now the steering is much easier and tighter. I still have one problem though. There is a joint with a collar about were the end of the column tube is in the engine compartment, the collar joint is scraping a little on the end of the steering column tube. It appears that there must be a bushing to center the shaft at the bottom of the tube that is worn and not centering the shaft. Does anybody know about bushing kits for steering columns? I went searching 4 different wrecking yards and I couldn't find one no shifter manual steering column so I need to work on fixing the one I got. The friction is pretty minor so I can live with it, but if I can fix it I will.
