Header hookup

Can anyone tell me what kind of job it is to hook up headers to existing dual exhaust. My current exhaust comes down and crosses in front of the transfer case and then runs parallell to the other pipe down the passenger side and then splits to the outside behind the tires. I want to keep the exhast system I have now because I like the way it sounds but I just want to add headers. If anyone has done this before please help. I dont feel like paying 250 for a new system just cause I wanted to add $100 headers. Thanks

Nitro, An opinion only. headders on a daily driver aint worth the trouble. A high rpm engine needs them, but your truck is going to spend most of it's rpm range below 3500. They can be rough on gaskets, as well as starters.

Everybody ought to have one set I guess, I do, but I don't think I'd do it again.

As I began IMHO

When i put the headers on my 71, i just installed the headers then drove it to a local exhaust shop. They mounted the exhaust up to the headers, and ended up costing me around 80 bucks. They had to cut the exhaust back further and bend new pipe and do quite a bit of welding. But they did a good job and i have no leaks. I hate messing too much with exhaust, so i just decided to pay and get it done.
